1- MUHAMMAD KHALIL AL-HUSSARY (Sep 17,1917-Nov 24,1980)

He was famous recited, tutor, auther, and president of the Qur’an Reciters Union. He was from Egypt. At the age of 8, he memorized the whole Qur’an. Al-Hussary studied in Ahmed Al-Badawi mosque and Al-Azhar University Cairo. He achieved diploma in Al-Qira’at al Ashr ( the ten recitations). Sheikh was the member of Egypt’s official Qur’an radio station. In 1944, he won Egypt Radio’s Qur’an Recitation Competition. Al-Hursary was also appointed to the board of Islamic research on Hadith and the Qur’an at Al-Azhar. In 1967, he was nominated as the president of the Islamic world league of Qur’an reciters. In 1960, he was the first Egyptian Qari to arrive in subcontinent. Sheikh also travelled to the world.

2- MUHAMMAD SIDDIQUE ALMINSHAWI (Jan 20,1920 – June 20,1969)

Sheikh Alminshawi was widely acclaimed Qur’an reciter from Egypt. By profession, he was a scholar, auther, and Qari. He travelled to many countries for recitation like Indonesia, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Syria etc. He held the title “Shaykh Al-Maqari”.

3- ABDUL BASIT ABDU SAMAD ( 1927- 1988 )

He had a golden throat and the voice of heaven due to his melodious tone, and outstanding breath contro with unique rhythm. He travelled throughout the world including Haram Mosque and Badshahi mosque in Pakistan.

4- SHEIKH MUSTAFA ISMAIL ( June 17,1905 – Dec 26,1978 )

Mustafa Ismail was nominated as King’s Qari. He was also appointed as official reciter for Egypt’s Recitation Radio Station. Dr.Ahmed Nuaina and composer Abdel Wahab were of the opinion that Mustafa Ismail had unique styles and methods. He moved voice easily between maqamat. In 147, he became Al-Azhar’s reciter.

5- MAHMOOD ALI ALBNAA ( Dec 17,1926 – Jul 20,1985 )

Sheikh was also among the shining galaxy of great Qur’an reciters. He memorized Qur’an at the age of eleven. In 1945, he arrived in Cairo and gained fame in short interval. In 1948, he joined the official radio station. Sheikh also recited in holy mosques of Madina and Al-Aqsa.

6- KAMEL YUSUF ALBAHTIMI

He was among the widely acclaimed reciters of 20th century. He got considerable fame and dignity in 1950s and 60s.

7- MUHAMMAD RIF’AT ( May 9,1882 – May 9,1950 )

Sheikh Rif’at was the first reciter who read on Egyptian Cairo Radio on May 31, 1934. His voice and style was copied by many reciters later on.

8-ABDUL REHMAN IBN ABDULL AZIZ AL-SUDAIS ( Feb 10, 1960 )

He is the imam of the grand Mosque in Makkah. He is also the president of the General presidency for the affairs of the two Holy Mosques.

9-SAUD AL-SHURAIM

Saud Ibn Ibrahim Ibn Muhammad Al-Shuraim was born in 1964. He is a famous Qur’an reciter. He delivers sermons in Masjid Al- Haram. He holds a P.H.D degree in Sharia and Islamic studies. He is a professor at the Ummul Qura University in Makkah.

10-MUHAMMAD AYYUB

Muhammad Ayyub Ibn Muhammad Yusuf Ibn Sulaiman Umar was born in Makkah in 1951 and died in 2016. Sheikh was the prominent Qari and Imam of Masjid Nabvi in Madina. He was also the faculty member of the department of Tafseer in the faculty of the Holy Qur’an and Islamic studies at the Islamic University of Madina.

11-MISHARY BIN RASHID ALAFASY

He was born in Kuwait. He is among the top reciters of the present era. He is a proficient reciter, preacher, and nasheed artist. He studied in Madina University.

12-RAAD MUHAMMAD AL KURDI

He was born in 1991 in Kurdistan. He is also the famous reciter of present period.

13-NASER AL QATAMI

He is a versatile reciter of the Holy Qur’an. He was born in 1980 in Saudi Arabia.

14-SYED SADAQAT ALI

He is a famous Pakistani reciter. He has been honored with Sitara e Imtiaz and pride of performance. He holds a chairmanship of Sautul Qura International Pakistan. He is best known for PTV program Aao Qur’an Parhein.

Best tips and rules for Quran memorization.

For every Muslim, it is mandatory to seek knowledge from cradle to grave.

It is a Destiny to be achieved by every adult Muslim. In this sake, undoubtedly, Quran is the book to be unfolded first. Among basic teachings, we find in it are the general principles of natural and successful lifestyle in form of commandments. Breif codes and rules are generated for the welfare of humanity generally and for Muslims in specific.

It is a fine craze in the Muslim world that millions of teanagers memorize whole Quran in short span of Time.

Every second adult dreams and tries to hifz it. Therefore, in the following circumstances, the need of an hour is to explain and introduce the brief procedure or successful method of Quran memorization.

There isn’t a single execution method for all, but however, we can draw a path of general methodology from which, a student or tutor can further shortlist and add as per his/her criteria of easement.

So following are the rules and tips for Quran memorization;

1- plan; make three plans per day. Preferably first after Fajr prayer, second after Asr, and third before bed.

2-Listen; Make a routine of listening Quran. Listen before reading.

3-Lesson Plans; Execute lesson plans daily by selecting number of verses or pages as per your capacity.

4-Repeat; Repeat in a drilling process, read 10 to 15 times from one to five verses before memorization.

5-Loud Reading during repetition and after memorization.

6-Pause; Take a pause of few minutes between drilling, repeating, and memorization.

7-Orally Reading; Recite orally and ask tutor or anybody to listen. This practice should be done atleast once daily.

8-Time/Commitment; never compromise on time and place suitable for you.

9-Revision; Never start fresh lesson without last day’s revision.

10-Prayer Recitation; Always try to read the fresh memorized lesson in prayer.

11-Peer/Group Recitation; peer recitation is the fastest way to memorize. A group recitation is a method of hifz in which you can save time by reading, drilling, and memorizing in one sitting. Moreover, a competition pressure will create ideal environment for intelligent brains to compete fast.

12-One and same copy till last so you can highlight your mistakes and errors to overcome later on.

13-Understanding; Memorization with conceptual understanding and translation will mount the learner’s interest.

14-Traweeh; Whatever the portion/juz you hifz, recite in Traweeh or Qayam-ul-lail.

15-Write; this is not mandatory but if you have an interest, you can write and compare with text after hifz. This method would be applied in the absence of companionship.

16-Quit cold drinks and fast food and drink more water to avoid breath and mental exhaustion during long recitation.

17-Make abolition before recitation and recite the following duas;
